›Buồn Con Sáo Sậu

Back to Cam Ly. While most ofher music is not what I like, but I think she hits the right button in choosing "dân ca" music. It fits her voice and her style well. Unlike her younger sister, she always appears to be very lady-like in atraditional way.I watched her onstage on several occasions, she seems to be very cute and sweet, especially when she wears "áo bà ba" the traditional Southern Vietnamese outfit (like the picture above). While I don'ttolerate "sến" music, Ilike "dân ca miền Nam" songs. They reminded me of my motherland and my youth in a truely realistic way.

In Buon Con Sao Sau, Cam Ly did the favor for me. I am digging Dem Ganh Hao Nghe Dieu Hoai Lang already. You see, my mother's side is from Bac Lieu so this song totally does justice for me. Besides that, Buon Con Sao Sau, Ba Nam, Thuong Em Ly Miet Vuon, and Me Toi are keepers too. I don't know why she chose Hue Xua. First of all, it does not fit with the rest of the album. While the rest of the album clearly have the Southern taste written all over them, this Hue song is so lost. Second, her voice and style just simply does not fit with this song. It's so painfulto listen to a Central Vietnamese song with a Southern voice (if you're Vietnamese, you should know what I'm talking about).Chuyen Ba Tam is so funny. I thought it describes pretty accurate of people who just can't keep their mouth shut. For some weird reasons, I enjoyed it :)
