›My Ancestors’ Past Made Who I am

Cháu Amy Hồ Vũ Anh Thư viết đoạn văn dưới đây năm cháu 11 tuổi:

A caring daughter, and a loving sister is what makes me who I am.

I come from Vietnam where my ancestors had escaped to the sea.

Visiting my grandmother’s grave, is what my family does.

This helps me connect with my grandmother, as best as I possibly can.

A playful friend, and a working student is what makes me who I am.

I hope to know the actual meaning of hapiness and the mourning of life someday.

I hear my mother’s voice, as I think of my childhood past.

As I dream of my parents’ difficulties, I picture them trying to escape.

I wish to experience my father’s heartache, of losing his many brothers & sisters.

Prentending to be my parents, helps me to cope with their sorrow and pain.

I believe in helping the less fortunate, including the many homeless.

Touching the hearts of all people, really makes me happy.

Feeling happy with myself helps me get through hard times.

I worry about being someone that I’m not.

I cry about finding out of my dog’s death.

A good sport with losing, and a good sport with winning is what makes me who I am.

To value my very fortunate life, and all I’ve gotten from it makes me proud.

I dream for all people to work together when needed.

I hope for all and everyone’s dreams come true someday.
